iPhone 2,1

iPhone 2,1

In the newly released firmware version 2.2.1 McRumors apparently discovered a reference to a possible next generation iPhone. In the source code of the iPhone software they found a line of code where an iPhone 2,1 is mentioned.

Apple assigns unique numbers in the code for the various iPhone models. The first iPhone has been named iPhone 1,1, while the iPhone 3Gs name was 1,2. The now emerged new ID is a hint for a whole new iPhone generation, ’cause of the huge jump from 1,2 to 2,1 one could expect significant changes to the current 3G model.

When the iPod touch jumped in the version number there were many new features also including speakers, volume control, a microphone and a much faster processor. A few weeks ago, there was already a rumor that the new iPhone could get a quad-processor with graphics performance that would even outnumber PSP and Nintendo DS.

App Review: Cro-Mag Rally - iPhone racing game

October 14th, 2008

Cro-Mag Rally is an OpenGL based Stone Age racing game developed by the company Pangea Software.

Cro-Mag Rally auf dem iPhone

Cro-Mag Rally on the iPhone

You are in the role of Brog the caveman and race through 9 different levels such as Stone Age, Iron Age and Bronze Age.

To keep control of the Flinstones-car-like vehicles you just have to hold the iPhone like a steering wheel in your hands and lean it in the appropriate direction. Indeed, it needs al little practice, but once you got used to the control, you fly skillfully through the curves.

With its very impressive graphics, Cro Mag Ralley shows, what the iPhone is capable of.The only negative point is the lack of a multiplayer mode. But for the low price of $0,99 it’s still a good deal and a really fun game. Graphically, and especially from the gameplay Cro-Mag Rally can definitely keep up with the high-priced racing games like Asphalt 4: Elite Racing. An absolute must buy!
